in kh1 he touches rikus heart and gains the use of the keyblade from him as he falls to darkness, and the keyblade “moves down the list”, and his “natural ability” is fostered in the fact ventus is a wielder and inside of soras heart. but otherwise, sora never touches anyones keyblade like that, and doesnt “succeed” anyone, not traditionally. what bequeathing is: a spiritual successor being established through the touch of a keyblade. riku with terra, kairi with aqua. 

sora never experiences this core part of being a traditional keyblade wielder, and its always been a bit weird he wasnt, out of the destiny trio at least

but theres one keyblade sora does touch, in that context. theres one man who spiritually and narratively passes the weight of his journey over onto sora, to carry forward his legacy
